Mintimer Shaimiev and Vagit Alekperov visit the island town of Sviyazhsk

Tatarstan’s State Counselor and Chairman of the Board of guardians of the Republican Foundation “Vozrozhdenie” (“Renaissance”) Mintimer Shaimiev and President of OAO “Oil Company “LUKOIL” Vagit Alekperov have visited the island town of Sviyazhsk.
Within the framework of Memorandum on participation of OAO LUKOIL in restoration of historical and cultural monuments of the Republic of Tatarstan signed on June 7, 2010, within the two years the company has transferred 45 mln roubles to the account of “Vozrozhdenie” Foundation for restoration of the Church of Constantine and Helena in Sviyazhsk.
The church of XVII century was officially opened on June 23 this year.
Guests were met by the senior priest Father Sergius who thanked Vagit Alekperov for help in church restoration.
Father Sergius told about the history and current activity of the church of Constantine and Helena.
Honourable guests also visited the Trinity Church, Joy of All Who Sorrow Church at the Ioanno-Predtechensky Monastery, the Dormition Cathedral, brethren's building of the Dormition of the Mother of God Monastery.
Vagit Alekperov said that within two years enormous work had been implemented in Sviyazhsk, and it was important for him that LUKOIL had made its contribution to such a noble cause.
Mintimer Shaimiev and Vagit Alekperov laid flowers to the monument to victims of political repressions and visited stable yard.
On 24 April, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage sites and confined to the International Day of Historical Monuments and Sites held in the Government House of the republic, the Aid to the Rais of Tatarstan Olesya Baltusova informed that in 2024 the Rebus Forum will be held on 14-15 November. She reminded that in the current year the forum will be named “Aglomerations: Experience, Opportunities. Challenges” and will be held with participation of China “as it will take place during the ROSTCI Forum.”
On 24 April Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov together with speakers and experts, investors, representatives of start-ups and venture funds, large corporations and development institutes took part in events of the “zero” day of the Russian Venture Forum dedicated to the topic of “Technological Entrepreneurship: the space of highest skills.
On 24 April Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Nigmatullin on behalf of the Government of the republic and the Director of the VOIN Center Igor Kazarezov signed an agreement on cooperation between the Government of the republic and the Center, which envisages interaction in issues of patriotic upbringing and military and sports training of youngsters.
On 24 April, speaking at a briefing in the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, the Chairman of the Regional Committee on protection of Cultural Heritage Sites Ivan Guschin informed that in 2024 the Committee initiated historical and cultural expertise of nearly 100 sites and 20 archeological monuments to take them under state protection.
