President of Tatarstan meets with ICCROM experts at the Kazan Kremlin

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with experts of the International Center for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) and members of the delegation from Central Macedonia (Greece).
Russian Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky, Senior Secretary of the RF Commission for UNESCO affairs Grigory Ordzhonikidze, Chairman of the Russian national committee of the World cultural and natural heritage under the RF Commission for UNESCO affairs Igor Makovetsky, Tatarstan’s State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, Aide to the Tatarstan President on social issues Tatyana Larionova, Tatarstan’s Minister of culture Airat Sibagatullin participated in the meeting.
To the point, on October 31 ICCROM experts – Director General Stefano De Caro, special adviser of Director General of the United Nations Organisation on issues of education, science and culture Munir Bushenaki visited the island town of Sviyazhsk and on November 1 – the city of Bolgar. Vice-governor of Central Macedonia Kostas Karapanagiotidis also participated in the excursions.
After studying methods of restoration works in Sviyazhsk and Bolgar they will pass their final statement to the World Heritage Committee. Members of the Committee will consider the issues of including these objects in UNESCO World heritage list.
Today’s meeting was opened by Vladimir Medinsky. The Russian Minister of culture noted that Kazan is a unique territory of the universal importance.
The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that for the last few years a great deal had been done in the sphere of cultural heritage preservation in republic.
“We show to the entire world how different nationalities can live peacefully together. We want Sviyazhsk and Bolgar to obtain the global status, and we will do our best and fulfill all recommendations. It is very important for us,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked everyone for joint work and especially guests for paying much attention to Tatarstan.
On 31 January, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Damir Shaydullin reported that capital overhaul of nine school in eight municipalities of the republic has started.
On 28 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in an extended joint meeting of the Main Directorate of Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan and a collegium of the Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disaster Response of the republic which summarized results of work of the territorial subsystem of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the republic in 2025 and set tasks for 2026.
In his keyword report the Head of the Main Directorate Irek Kadamov informed that there were 3 758 man-caused fires in the republic which killed 128 people and injured 177. Through joint efforts, we have managed to reduce the number of man-caused fires by more than 10%, the number of injured by 12 per cent, however the number of killed increased by 13 people, he said.
On 28 January at a ceremony held as a part of a meeting summarizing results of work of the territorial subsystem of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the republic in 2025 and setting tasks for 2026, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Head of the Main Directorate of Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan Irek Kadamov handed in keys for 24 new fire and rescue vehicles purchased at the expense of the regional budget to units of the Directorate and Tatarstan Emergencies Ministry.
On 27 January, speaking at an extended meeting of the Tatarstan Prosecutor’s Office which summarized results of work of the Office for 2025 and set tasks for strengthening law and order in 2026 and which was held with participation of Russian Deputy General Prosecutor Nikoly Shishkin and the Chief Federal Inspector for the republic Viktor Demidov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin thanked employees of the Office for good work and high professionalism.
