Rustam Minnikhanov launches “MacHappy Day” campaign in Kazan

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has solemnly launched the charity campaign “MacHappy Day”. McDonald's East Europe and Russia CEO Hamzat Hasbulatov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin participated in the event.
The “MacHappy Day” campaign is held every year on November 20 at all 33500 restaurants all over the world to help children who need support. In Russia this campaign is held for the 11th time.
This year all McDonald's restaurants in Russia will donate the proceeds from selling fries on November 20 for construction of the first in Russia free hotel “House of Ronald Macdonald” for families whose children undergo long-term treatment at the Kazan Children’s Republican Clinical Hospital. Funds from selling rings made by sketches of small patients will be spent for the same purposes. The price for one ring is 20 roubles.
Within the framework of “MacHappy Day” campaign famous people will work behind the counter. Today’s morning meals for guests were served by people’s artist Venera Ganeeva, prize winner of the Olympic Games Svetlana Demina, Director of the Republican agency for press and mass communications Irek Minnakhmetov.
Employees of the Kazan Children’s Republican Clinical Hospital, small patients with their parents were present at the ceremony.
McDonald's East Europe and Russia CEO Hamzat Hasbulatov told that before he had worked behind the McDonald's counter at the Pushkin square in Moscow and it was his first time in Kazan.
“It is no mere chance. We are realising our project on constructing a family hotel in Kazan. Support of sponsors and millions of our visitors is important for us,” Hamzat Hasbulatov said. He thanked people who participated in the campaign.
The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that construction of the hotel for families of sick children was very important.
“Under the auspices of the Russian Government we are seriously modernizing health care objects. The Kazan Children’s Republican Clinical Hospital is becoming one of the best medical centers in Russia. We are doing it for the sake of our children,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
