Rustam Minnikhanov: Unity of Tatar people is a standby for our republic

Forum of the World congress of Tatars is a historical event for all Tatars, the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said at the 5th forum of the World congress of Tatars. Plenary session of the congress was held at the Tatar academic opera and ballet theatre named after M.Dzhalil (Kazan).

800 delegates and more than 300 guests participated in the event.

The Tatarstan President noted that the congress of Tatars had successfully been working for the idea of unification of the Tatar people, maintenance of the national culture and native language for 20 years. He also mentioned that the 20th anniversary of Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan had been recently celebrated.

Rustam Minnikhanov told about main achievements of the republic. He focused on the project of the satellite city “Innopolis”, and invited representatives of intellectual and business sectors and modern Tatar youth to participate in the project.

Rustam Minnikhanov mentioned active activity of compatriots outside Tatarstan.

To the point, the 5th forum of the World congress of Tatars is held in the year of 20th anniversary of the World congress of Tatars. By the way, it was established in accordance with the RT President’s Decree in June, 1992.

A diverse program was prepared for delegates and guests of the forum. In particular, participation in the plenary session and three sections – “Ways of development of the Tatar nation”, “The role of history, culture and national education in forming self-consciousness of the Tatar people”, “Tatar information environment: reality and prospects”. Moreover, guests will enjoy a very interesting entertainment program that includes visits to theatres and museums, and different excursions.
