Mintimer Shaimiev: “National issue is the President’s concern”

At the meeting of the Russian President with his agents Tatarstan’s State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev suggested that representatives of national republics should participate in development and adoption of bills.
Such information was given by Mintimer Shaimiev at a meeting with journalists at the Kazan Kremlin. He mentioned that earlier the Chamber of nationalities had operated in the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. It dealt with interests of different peoples of the USSR.
The first President of Tatarstan supposes that it will be the only civilized solution of many problems connected with interests of many nationalities. “It is impossible to defend interests of national republics by common voting in the RF State Duma,” he said.
Mintimer Shaimiev said that the arrangements had been reached to determine the form of work and submit it for approval.
“Social and economic problems can be considered whether it is a national republic or a region. We should pay special attention to educational and cultural issues,” Tatarstan’s State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev said.
“National issue is the President’s concern. No one but the President can solve this problem. Millions of decision can be made but the result depends on the attitude to this issue and understanding,” Tatarstan’s State Counselor concluded.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
