Rustam Minnikhanov participates in signing Memorandum of agreement between iCarnegie Global Learning and Innopolis University

Memorandum of agreement between iCarnegie Global Learning and Innopolis University was signed at the RT Government House today. The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the signing ceremony.
The document was signed by iCarnegie CEO Gil Taran and Director of Innopolis University Dmitry Kondratiev.
Before the signing ceremony Rustam Minnikhanov and representatives of Carnegie Mellon University (USA, Pennsylvania) had discussed further steps on establishing Innopolis University on the territory of innovative satellite city and interaction with Carnegie Mellon University.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked for organization of the visit of the Tatarstan delegation to Pittsburgh (USA, Pennsylvania) in September 2012 dedicated to detailed acquaintance with activity of Carnegie Mellon University, educational programs and its subsidiary iCarnegie.
Deputy PM and Minister of informatization and communications Roman Shaikhutdinov told about the meeting of representatives of Carnegie Mellon University with Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Arkady Dvorkovich and Minister of communications Nikolay Nikiforov in Moscow. Issues of the Innopolis project and development program of Innopolis University were discussed at the meeting.
Roman Shaikhutdinov mentioned that the GRP volume should double in Russia by 2020. IT industry should play its part in accomplishment of this mission.
Gil Taran told about preparatory work, staff training for high technology sector, and research conducted in the sphere of IT education that will help developing the educational concept of Innopolis University.
According to Gil Taran, lack of specialists is observed nowadays in IT industry. IT companies say that it is difficult to find qualified specialists and programming is poorly developing. We need systemic approach to the problem, he said.
Roman Shaikhutdinov reminded that cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University would enable involving its specialists in development of Innopolis University infrastructure. Besides, businessmen, major enterprises and IT companies from Tatarstan and Russia should also be attracted.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
