Minister of Economy of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov: Prices for basic socially important goods are monitored daily in the republic

On April 11, at the Government House of the republic, speaking at a regional video meeting with the participation of all municipal regions of the republic held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Economy of the republic Midkhat Shagiakhmetov said that prices for basic socially significant goods and their availability in sufficient quantity in stores are monitored daily.

Shagiakhmetov reminded that the action plan has been prepared to support small and medium-sized businesses and industrial enterprises of the republic.

According to Shagiakhmetov, as for the monitoring of prices for basic socially significant goods “there are no sharp changes in prices." He said that on average prices for vegetable products have increased by 5 per cent, but this is due to seasonal changes.

The Minister reported that the situation is being monitored in the republic to identify unjustified price increases for socially significant goods.

“Food stocks are provided in sufficient quantity,” he said. At the same time, he clarified that there were temporary shortages of goods in certain regions of the republic.  We should quickly respond to such situations with every municipal region, Shagiakhmetov noted.
