On April 23, at the 9th meeting of the State Council of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin reported on the results of work of Tatarstan Government in 2019.
He also said that Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov introduced a report on the work of regional authorities in the previous year to the State Council of the republic.
The report is established under the priority areas of Strategy-2030 and includes the information on the implementation of national projects. The report also includes the most detailed answers to questions received from committees and people’s deputy associations.
In general, Tatarstan is in the top five of the leading regions of the Russian Federation. For the sixth consecutive year, the republic is in the top three of the National Rating to ensure a favorable investment climate. The largest enterprises of the republic, namely, Tatneft Oil Company, enterprises of TAIF Group, KamAZ Automaker, Tatenergo Energy Company and many others - throughout 2019 continued to implement previously adopted investment projects.
Together with the largest major budget revenue generating enterprises, two special economic zones are successfully operating in the republic - Alabuga and Innopolis, 5 advanced development territories and 100 industrial sites and parks, including Master Kama Industrial Park and Khimgrad Technopolis.
Under the Investment Council of Tatarstan, as many as 16 investment projects amounting to 19 billion roubles with the creation of 5.500 jobs were considered last year. A total of 30 investment projects amounting to 28 billion roubles with the creation of 9.500 jobs were approved at Advanced Development Territory Commissions.
Over a year, over 63,000 people registered as self-employed in the republic, including 6,000 residents of other regions who chose Tatarstan as business location.
The established infrastructure helped to achieve positive results at the end of 2019. The gross regional product exceeded 2.5 trillion roubles. The growth rate was 101 per cent, the industrial production index was 102.4 per cent, the volume of construction work exceeded 363 billion roubles, and agricultural production 250.9 billion roubles, investment in fixed assets amounted to 640 billion roubles.
Due to all funding sources, 2,200 socially significant facilities were built and repaired last year, including 341 facilities under the national projects. Thus, 2,675 million square meters housing were commissioned and 935 apartment buildings, 112 kindergartens, 38 schools overhauled.
According to the road maintenance programme, 93.9 kilometers of regional roads were built and reconstructed and 196,8 kilometers were repaired, as many as 11 bridges were built in 2019.
Pesoshin also informed about the main measures to counteract the spread of a new coronavirus infection and minimize its impact on the socio-economic development of the republic.
