A three-day visit of the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Malaysia has begun. The RT President arrived in Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur. The Tatarstan delegation is comprised of the Minister of education and science Engel Fattakhov, Chief Executive of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov, Chairman of the RT State Council Committee for budget, taxes and finance Murad Gadylshin, and rectors of higher educational institutions.
A number of meetings are on the agenda. In particular, Rustam Minnikhanov is going to participate in meetings with Malaysian Prime Minister and heads of ministries. The Tatarstan President will also visit Cyberjaya city, the prototype of Innopolis being created in Tatarstan.
Rustam Minnikhanov will also participate in Tatarstan-Malaysia investment seminar where Tatarstan’s investment projects would be presented.
At the meeting with Chief Executive of Performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU), the Development Department in charge of realization of the 10-year program of Malaysia development members of the Tatarstan delegation will study the experience important for working out the Tatarstan’s development strategy till 2013.
Rustam Minnikhanov will also visit Johore Bahru to get familiar with Iskandar zone, the prototype of Tatarstan’s Smart City. Moreover, members of the Tatarstan delegation will visit Malaysian leading higher educational institutions.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.
