Rustam Minnikhanov: “Tatarstan and Malaysia enjoy great prospects for cooperation”

Prospects of the Republic of Tatarstan as an attractive place for Malaysian investors were presented at Malaysia-Tatarstan investment seminar in Kuala-Lumpur today. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the seminar at headquarters of the Malaysian Investment Development Agency (MIDA).
Malaysian Minister of international trade and industry Dato' Seri Mustapha Bin Mohamed, Ambassador of Russia to Malaysia Lyudmila Vorobeva, Chief Executive of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov, and other members of the Tatarstan delegation participated in the meeting with potential investors.
130 representatives of Malaysian companies, authorities and government institutions in charge of business development in Malaysia attended the seminar.
Malaysian Minister of international trade and industry Dato' Seri Mustapha Bin Mohamed said that four Malaysian companies worked in Tatarstan for that moment, and expressed hope that their number would increase in the nearest future. He also invited Tatarstan companies to Malaysia.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov told about economic development of republic, major running projects and infrastructure that had been provided for investors.
Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that it was important for the republican leadership to increase Tatarstan’s awareness in the world and the visit to Malaysia was a considerable step in that area. He thanked Malaysian Ministry of international trade and industry and Embassy of the Russian Federation for organization of the seminar.
Chief Executive of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov made a detailed presentation about Tatarstan’s investment opportunities, told about main advantages and pointed out areas the republican government considered to be priority. That is, oil production and oil processing, engineering, construction and construction materials, IT and telecommunications, agriculture and food industry, services industry and tourism.
Linar Yakupov told about Smart City and Innopolis projects. Speaking about Tatarstan’s export opportunities Chief Executive of the Tatarstan Investment Development presented the produce of main engineering enterprises, in particular, KAMAZ, Kazan helicopters plant, “Kazancompressormash”, Gorky shipbuilding plant.
Linar Yakupov assured Malaysian investors that businessmen willing to implement their projects in Tatarstan would enjoy most favourable conditions and necessary assistance.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic.
