Rustam Minnikhanov presents highest award of the Republic of Tatarstan to Roald Sagdeev

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov presented the “Order of merits for the Republic of Tatarstan” to academician of the RF and RT Academy of sciences, professor of physics at Maryland University (USA) Roald Sagdeev on the occasion of his 80th anniversary.
President of the RT Academy of sciences Akhmet Mazgarov, Director of the Institute of oceanology of the Russian Academy of sciences Robert Nigmatulin, Roald Sagdeev’s brother, Russian chemist, academician of the Russian Academy of sciences and Doctor of chemical sciences Renad Sagdeev participated in a solemn event.
President of Tatarstan noted that Roald Sagdeev’s career started in Tatarstan. “You’ve always been with us. Though we are far from each other, we feel support of your family. Your achievements in physics and space development projects demonstrate the example for younger generation. We are proud of you and congratulate you on the anniversary,” the President said.
According to President of the RT Academy of sciences Akhmet Mazgarov, Roald Sagdeev pays much attention to the RT Academy of sciences and renders support in spite of his busy schedule. President of the RT Academy of sciences wished Roald Sagdeev many years of joint work for the good of global and Tatarstan science.
Director of the Institute of oceanology of the Russian Academy of sciences Robert Nigmatulin said that Roald Sagdeev opened up the door for Tatars at the Academy of sciences, became a legendary person in modern physics and the example for scientists.

On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
On 1 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in N.I. Lobachevsky Prize and Medal Award Ceremony held in Kazan Federal University and handed in the award to the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chief Researcher of the St. Petersburg Department of Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Ivanov who was awarded for the outstanding achievements in fundamental and applied mathematics.
