President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien. The event was held within the framework of the meeting of heads of delegations of countries participating in Universiade-2013.
Russian Deputy Minister of Sport Natalia Parshikova, Head of Russian Sport Student Union Oleg Matytsin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Head of Executive office of Universiade-2013 Vladimir Leonov participated in the event.
Addressing FISU President, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked him for vesting confidence on Tatarstan. Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Every day we learn something new and work intensively. Russian Government supports us, and Vladimir Putin personally pays much attention to preparation for Universiade.”
“92 days are left to Universiade. We have to deal with several tasks. We must prove that Russia can organise such major events and contribute to promotion of student sport,” President of Tatarstan continued.
FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien assured that Universiade in Kazan would be held on the highest level. “Almost everything is ready now. We know it will be the best Universiade for the entire history. Russia and Tatarstan will make the history of student sport,” he said.
Russian Deputy Minister of Sport Natalia Parshikova noted that preparation for Universiade enables getting the efficient model of a well-organised sport event. Universiade helped to organise the visa-free entry for participants of the student games, and other major sport events that will be held in Russia.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.
