Rustam Minnikhanov meets with representatives of Tatar Diaspora in Czech Republic

On 15 April in Prague Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov who came on a working visit to Czech Republic the previous day had a meeting with representatives of Tatar diaspora.
The Tatar community in Czech Republic is one of the youngest in Europe. According to the data of the World Congress of Tatars, 300 Tatars currently live in Czech Republic. However, Tatars living in Prague display a considerable public activity.
The Tatar national holiday “Sabantui” has been held here since 2002. The youth movement of Tatars living in Czech Republic is cooperating with the organisation “Tatars of Europe”. Free Sunday Tatar language courses are available under the auspices of Trade and Economic Representation of the Republic of Tatarstan in Czech Republic. Czech Tatars are planning to establish an official national and cultural community.
At the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov told about projects “TNV-planet”, and online programme for learning the Tatar language “Ana tele”.
Rim Gilfanov, a member of Tatar Diaspora, Director of Tatar-Bashkir editorial office of “Azatlyk” (“Freedom”) radio station said that Tatars living in Czech Republic follow Tatarstan achievements and implementation of projects in economic sphere with interest. Besides, Czech Tatars are active fans of “Rubin” and “Ak Bars” sports teams.
Rustam Minnikhanov presented awards to most active members of Tatar Diaspora.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.
