Rustam Minnikhanov: It seems that we do not have enough money to realize our ideas, but we often feel lack of knowledge, experience and skills

At the opening ceremony of 8th Kazan venture fair CEO of the Russian Association of Venture Investment Albina Nikkonen said: “Kazan venture fair is a platform, which brings ideas for implementation of different projects, improvement of legal framework, simplification of conditions to carry out business activity.”
The Kazan venture fair opened at Korston hotel & mall with participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The President wished success to participants of the event and thanked partner companies.
To the point, participants of the Kazan venture fair can share their experience in the sphere of direct investments and venture capital, discuss common problems, and determine effective development strategies for their companies.
European Tech Tour, the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA), “Russian Venture Company”, the European Association for Business Angels (EBAN), DFJ VTB Aurorа, the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, the Russian Fund for Technological Development, Skolkovo Fund will participate in the Kazan venture fair in 2013.
After the opening ceremony guests got familiar with companies represented at the event.
A plenary session “Formation of general innovative market: USA, Europe, Russia. Global trends of venture industry” was held afterwards. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that support of innovations in regions is very important nowadays. He believes that Russia should become a serious player at the global market of innovations.
CEO of Russian Association of Venture Investment Albina Nikkonen noted that a major federal programme should be developed, and it must be implemented starting from higher educational institutions.
Several documents were signed at the end of the event. In particular, Memorandum on cooperation was signed between Agilent Technologies and Kazan (Volga) Federal University, OOO “BIOFOND” and OOO “Techcrowd”.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
