Rustam Minnikhanov: “Government cannot be ideal”

On April 27 at a session of Tatarstan State Council Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov made report on activity of executive authorities in 2012. He said that the previous year had been quite successful.

Thus, the Gross Regional Product accounted for 1 trillion 415 bln rubles in 2012. Dynamics of GRP was conditioned by outrunning growth of manufacturing activities, development of construction and expansion of consumer demand.

Decrease of dynamics was observed in agricultural sector in 2012. It was connected with abnormal weather conditions in August resulted in decrease of agricultural production by 6,9 per cent.

Ildar Khalikov continued that there was the tendency to slowdown in economic growth in first quarter of the current year in Russia and in the republic.

Tatarstan Prime Minister stressed that further economic development will depend on creation of new production works and increase of competitiveness of enterprises. He said that the current year will not be easy and will require mobilization of efforts of all authorities, enterprises and citizens.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov made comments on the presented report. “Government cannot be ideal. The more you do, the more is to be done,” he said. He reminded that Tatarstan Government is the leader among regional governments of the Russian Federation by efficiency of work.
