Rustam Minnikhanov: “We use most advanced technologies in our traditional industries”

On May 22, at a plenary session of 15th Tomsk INNOVUS forum Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that scientific research and adoption of innovations are necessary for developing Tatarstan traditional economic sectors, such as oil production, oil refining, and engineering.
Tatarstan delegation is also presented at the forum by the Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov and Aide to Tatarstan President on economic issues Airat Khairullin.
INNOVUS is the first forum in Russia that has become a popular place for discussing innovative development and decision making for modernization of Russian economy.
Representatives of Russian Government, Federal Assembly, federal executive authorities, office of Plenipotentiary of the Russian President in Siberian federal district, heads of Russian regions, top managers of big companies, Russian and foreign experts take part in 15th INNOVUS-2013 forum.
This year the event is dedicated to adoption of innovations in raw material economic sectors.
At a plenary session Plenipotentiary of the Russian President in Siberian federal district Viktor Tolokonsky read out welcoming address of the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Moderator of the plenary session was rector of Russian Academy of national economy and government service Vladimir Mau.
Speaking at the session, Rustam Minnikhanov said that every region should rely on its potential and develop competitive spheres. In particular, Tatarstan is known for oil production and engineering industries. He continued that oil had been produced for 70 years in the region.
Another priority sector is petrochemistry, where a range of innovative projects are implemented. The presence of automotive plants enabled establishing the centre for automotive components production, total annual proceeds of special innovative platforms for small and medium-size business make 2 bln dollars.
After the session Rustam Minnikhanov and other members of the delegation visited the exposition and saw presented samples of innovative produce.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
