Tatarstan chemists celebrate their professional holiday in Nizhnekamsk

On May 23 celebrations dated to Chemistry Day were held in Nizhnekamsk in Russia’s biggest centre of petrochemical and oil-refining industry.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, rector of Kazan national research university, professor German Dyakonov and other officials came to congratulate workers of petrochemical sector on holiday. Guests looked around the exhibition of 19 largest republican enterprises.
This year solemn celebrations are dated to important events in Russian chemical industry – 150th anniversary of academician Vernadsky, 100th anniversary of academician Kirpichnikov, 225th anniversary of Kazan gunpowder factory, 145th anniversary of Karpov chemical plant, 50th anniversary of Nizhnekamsk Chemical-Technological Institute, 50th anniversary of first produce of OAO “Kazanorgsintez”, 95th anniversary of Trade union organisation of workers of Russian chemical industry.
About five thousand people came to take part in the event.
Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, rector of Kazan national research university German Dyakonov and Head of Nizhnekamsk region Aidar Metshin were the first to congratulate workers of Tatarstan petrochemical industry.
Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, in his turn, thanked chemists for their achievements and addressed special words of gratitude to people who organised the event.
Heads of leading Nizhnekamsk chemical enterprises also congratulated Tatarstan chemists on their professional holiday.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who came back from the international forum “Big chemistry” in Ufa, summed up the event.
“I am glad that we celebrate this holiday in petrochemical capital of our republic. Please, take sincere greetings on behalf of Plenipotentiary of the Russian President in VFD Mikhail Babich, President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov. Petrochemical industry is our pride. Tatarstan is the leader in Russia in this sphere. Due to our programmes aimed at development of gas and petrochemical complex we have got to an absolutely new level,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic, has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.
On 3 January on the errand from the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety of the republic , held an urgent meeting of the Commission which discussed readiness of forces and means to ensure security during the New Year and Christmas holidays.
On 29 December, speaking at a briefing held in Tatarstan Government House on issues of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of road services and housing and communal services during the holidays, the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Damir Shaydullin said that during the holidays special attention will be given to providing heat supply to apartment buildings.
On 24 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a charity action “The Christmas Tree of Wishes” held during the 17th session of the State Council of the republic of the seventh convocation.
The Head of the Government of the republic will fulfill wishes of five-year old Landysh who dreams of a guitar, 13-year old Zariva who will get a smart speaker, eight-year old Leyla dreaming of a bike and 16-year old Evelina who will be given an e-book.
