Tatarstan President meets with Russian religious leaders within the framework of “Izge Bolgar zhieny” event

On May 25 participants of the meeting of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with Muslim religious leaders suggested that Bolgar should become the place of regular meetings of Tatar Muslim figures.
The meeting was held at Mufti’s residence within the framework of solemn events “Izge Bolgar zhieny” (translated from Tatar as “The meeting in holy Bolgar”) dated to 1124th anniversary of official adoption of Islam in Volga Bulgaria.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that Islam originated in Bolgar and this land should be the place of concord and reconciliation.
He continued that the Republican fund “Revival” chaired by Mintimer Shaimiev had performed great work. Revival of spiritual values is very important and it may be the example for the entire country, he said.
Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council Ravil hazrat Gainutdin, in his turn, thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for supporting compatriots living in different Russian regions. He personally thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for supporting construction of the mosque in Kostroma region and Moscow. He invited Tatarstan leadership to opening of the mosque in Moscow in 2015.
Rustam Minnikhanov liked the idea of holding regular meetings of religious leaders noting that Russian Islamic University and World Congress of Tatars should be involved in this work.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
