Thousands of people take part in “Izge Bolgar zhieny” event

A solemn event “Izge Bolgar zhieny” (translated from Tatar as “The meeting in holy Bolgar”) dated to 1124th anniversary of official adoption of Islam in Volga Bulgaria was held in Bolgar (the Republic of Tatarstan) on May 25.
Thousands of people including participants of 4th Forum of Tatar Muslim figures, chairmen of Muslim spiritual departments took part in the event.
Honoured guests were Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, first Vice-Premier Ravil Muratov, Deputy Chairman of State Council Rimma Ratnikova, Chairman of the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate Talgat Tadzhuddin, Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council Ravil hazrat Gainutdin, and Chairman of Tatarstan Muslim Spiritual Department Kamil hazrat Samigullin.
Before that guests had visited the White Mosque and took part in a meeting of Tatarstan leadership with Russian Muslim leaders and official opening of the Riverside station and Museum of Bulgar civilization.
Rustam Minnikhanov delivered a welcoming speech and congratulated everyone on 1124th anniversary of official adoption of Islam in Volga Bulgaria.
The President reminded about the Forum of Tatar Muslim figures dedicated to important issues connected with preservation of language and traditions of Tatar people that had been held in Kazan before.
After the official part guests went to the City of masters to see arts and crafts items and souvenirs, and got familiar with work of the International centre of archeological research.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
