General Director of “KAMAZ” Jsc Sergey Kogogin: “In fact, “KAMAZ” Jsc plans to start joint production of gearboxes (KPP) and refuse from the local ones.”

General Director of “KAMAZ” Jsc Sergey Kogogin and Chairman of German Company “ZF-Friеdriсhshаfеn AG” Management Hans-Georg Harter reported today to RT Prime minister about the situation at joint enterprise “ZF KAMA”.
“ZF KAMA” was founded in 2005 by “KAMAZ” Jsc together with “Friеdriсhshаfеn AG”. The documents of foundation of joint company meant fabrication and further production of automatic gearboxes (KPP) for “KAMAZ lorries” with further localization of components for their fabrication up to 70 %.
«ZF Friedrichshafen AG» has 51% shares of “ZF KAMA” authorized capital. “KAMAZ” owns 49 %.
As Sergey Kogogin informed the journalists “we summarized the realization of the first project stage and we expect that 16 000 KPP will be produced at this enterprise; total production volume will make 58 million Euro.
Besides, in connection with visit of “ZF-Friеdriсhshаfеn AG” officials the workflow of another perspective project “Kama plus” was discussed. This project implies a considerable volume of investments and production volume up to 90 000 KPP per year.
General Director of “KAMAZ” Jsc said that company plans to start joint production of gearboxes (KPP) and refuse from the local ones.
He also said that the volume of investments to new project will make 150 million RUR; it’s planned to have volume production according to the project till 2012 year.
“We expect that it’ll be one of the leading companies in our country”, - Sergey Kogogin said to journalists.
According to his words, Mr. Kogogin visited Naberezhnye Chelny to make sure that investments of “ZF-Friеdriсhshаfеn AG” and “KAMAZ” Jsc are real investments into the project.
Sergey Kogogin noted that total area volume for location of the factory will be 70 000 m². “It’ll be a complete plant where KPP will be produced, localization will make 80 %; quantity of working places-456, production volume-350 million Euro per year. German specialists today work in project management in order to provide a quick entering in production process.
General Director of “KAMAZ” Jsc is sure that a complete transition for production of German KPP will raise customer properties of “KAMAZ” heavyweights, will make their quality better and reduce the net cost of automobiles.
Mr. Hans-Georg Harter, in his turn, while assessing the Russian partner noted that “KAMAZ” Jsc has good reputation in Western Europe; today’s visit and negotiations confirmed this fact once again.
