Speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic on 15 February, Tatarstan Minister of Labour and Social Support Elmira Zaripova said that in 2022 as many as 24.7 bn roubles will be allocated through the Ministry for social support of Tatarstan residents which is nearly by 2bn more than in the previous year.
“The federal budget allocates 10.6bn and the regional 14bn roubles of this money. More than 1.4m people in the republic receive different subsidies and 81 per cent of this support is targeted while in 2015 this number was only 27 per cent. Currently we are mainly focused on targeted support to provide help to those who really need it”, - she said.
The main amount of money is used to provide support to families with children as “more than 250 000 people in the republic live below the poverty line, 72 per cent of them being families with children. This year 11.6bn roubles will be used to support such families”, the Minister said.
She mentioned that in 2022 pregnant women and single parents of children at the age of 8-17 years old in need will receive increased subsidies as the subsistence rate for a child and the working adults grew in 2022.
Elmira Zaripova stressed that due to the social support measures the number of families with many children nearly doubled in Tatarstan from 24 800 in 2012 to 40 500 in 2022.
She informed that poor families with many children are given 10 000 roubles medication certificates and about 9 000 roubles of gifts at the child birth. They also get 100 per cent compensation for the kindergarten payment and families with five and more children get monthly subsidies in the amount of difference between the subsistence rate and their income.
