The information about key events of celebrating the 1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria has been presented at a briefing in the Government House of Tatarstan
On 11 May, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Vasil Shaykhraziyev told about the celebrations of the 1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria which include 150 separate events and will be held in the current May.
He underlined that due to the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin the celebration has reached the federal level and many regions established steering committees in preparations of events. “Knowing this we tried to integrate all our main events which will be held in May, such as the forum KazanSummit, a meeting of the “Russia-Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group, a forum of Tatar religious leaders, the festive celebrations “Izge Bolgar Zhyyeny and many others”, Shaykhraziyev said.
He added that even though there is a high concentration of significant milestones in May, the events will be held during the whole 2022.”We have integrated the federal and regional plans, the events of which are scheduled for every month”, he informed.
“The festivities will start on 21 May in Bolgar with postmarking a stamp dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria and later the same day after a meeting of the organizational committee headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnillun, we will have an opening ceremony of the holiday”, Shaykhraziyev told.
He informed that an expanded meeting of the organization committed held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov considered all issues of transportation “so that every citizen of Tatarstan can attend this event”.
He also told about the light show to be launched for tourists and residents of the cities on the walls of the Kazan Kremlin and the White Mosque in Bolgar in the evening on 20 and 21 May.
Speaking at meeting about international events to be held during celebrations, the Aid of Tatarstan President in International Issues Gazinur Bakirov said that an annual meeting of the of the “Russia-Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group will be held in Kazan on 20 May with participation of about 100 people from different countries to discuss the unique experience of Russia in preservation of ethnic and cultural diversity and inter-ethnic concord.
He said that due to Russian Foreign Ministry guests from Algeria, Bahrein, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Iraq, Senegal, Turkey, Tunisia , Syria and other countries will take part in the meeting, part of them – online.
Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Culture Lenar Khakimzyanov told about cultural events to be organized during celebrations such as theatrical show on the banks of the Volga River, a big concert in Bolgar on 21 of May and various shows and concerts to be held in Tatarstan and outside the republic before and after the main celebrations.
“So from 13 to 18 May the Tatarstan State Singing and Dancing Company will give concerts “The Trail of Bulgaria” in Astrakhan, Samara and Volgograd”, he concluded.
