Rustam Minnikhanov: “This year we expect pooper harvest”

On June 26 at a republican meeting on agricultural issues in Kukmor region Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that unfavourable weather conditions would affect this year’s harvest and agricultural workers should do their best to provide forage reserve and bread.
We are coming to the most responsible period for the whole agricultural industry, Rustam Minnikhanov continued.
He noted that plant growing sector is in poor state because of previous three years of unfavourable weather conditions. Besides, not all enterprises were ready for new conditions after Russia joined the WTO.
Tatarstan President asked financial institutes to approach support of agricultural industry in a more constructive way, and agricultural workers to increase work efficiency.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, implementation of all federal and republican will be continued. Tatneft and TAIF companies are ready to reduce fuel prices during harvest campaign.
The land improvement programme turned out to be very efficient and it should be continued.
Rustam Minnikhanov also asked to continue work on creating family farms.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov, in his turn, made a report on current state of agricultural industry. He told that in the first half of 2013 the cost of produced agricultural goods made 60 bln rubles. Credit debts in the industry are twice as much as the annual receipt.
Speaking about current state of crops, Marat Akhmetov said that the current week will be a decisive one. The shortage of rainfalls will prevent from having good crops. However, Tatarstan leadership hopes to provide enough crops for Tatarstan population.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov focused on ensuring fire safety and insurance of crops. He highly estimated the level of today’s meeting.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
