In his online welcoming speech the Chief Commander of the Russian Navy Nikolay Yevmenov said that currently the Russian fleet has a powerful scientific, design and staff potential for developing all latest types of ships. Enterprises of the branch have orders for years ahead and Russian ships efficiently solve all sets of tasks, he said.

The 03182p ships (developed by the Zelenodolsk design bureau) are scientific research marine vehicles designed for comprehensive oceanographic studies of the world ocean and the shallow water zones. The ship displacement will be at least 4 000 tonnes, its length – about 100meters, the width – 16 meters and the height from moulded base – about 18.6 meters together with the  upperworks.

Speaking at the ceremony Rustam Nigmatullin said that Tatarstan and the Russia Navy Command have been cooperating for many years and “this is a strategic cooperation, with the Zelenodolsk plant making a substantial contribution into its development.”

He said that in the last 11 years alone the plant supplied 21 military ships and boats for the Navy, 2 ships for border troops and 4 ships within the military technical cooperation and currently “many of them continue their successful service in the Caspian, Baltic and Black Sea fleets”.

He added that the ship plant continues manufacture of small missile-equipped and patrol ships, cable-layers and many others by the state defense orders. “The plant workers understand that the competitiveness of the plant and the whole of the Russian shipbuilding depend from the quality of the work they are doing and readiness to implement innovations and master new types of ships”, he concluded and congratulated the participants of the ceremony with the Day of Russia and Sabantuy holiday.
