In his address dedicated to the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Tatarstan First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Nigmatullin said: “On 26 June to world community commemorates International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking the main aim of which is to attract attention of all states and the world community to problems of drug abuse.
Today the drug abuse and their illicit manufacture and trafficking touch nearly all countries and collective and coordinated actions of states – members of the international agreements on drug control facilitate stepping up drug threat counteraction and decreasing its scale and consequences.
Tatarstan attaches serious attention to prevention and counteraction of the drug abuse. The targeted actions have made it possible to establish a system of counteracting expansion of the problem. Special attention is given to prevention drug abuse among teenagers and the youth and raising awareness of hazardous consequences of taking drugs.
On the eve of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking we urge to join forces to struggle against this evil”.
