Tatarstan President visits reconstructed terminal 1 at Kazan airport

On July 1 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by Minister of Transport and Roads Lenar Safin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Head of Laishevo region Mikhail Afanasiev, Director of Universiade Executive Office Vladimir Leonov inspected work of reconstructed terminal 1 at Kazan international airport.
The old terminal was reconstructed under modernization programme of Kazan “air gates” on the threshold of Universiade. Construction works started in June 2012 after opening new terminal 1A. External and internal design of the building were brought into accordance with new terminal, new state-of-the-art equipment was installed.
The old and new buildings are connected by a corridor and have access to Aeroexpress station. Total area of the terminal now makes 24 thousand m². The cost of reconstruction works made 1,3 bln rubles.
Passengers of domestic flights of Ak Bars Aero and UTair lines, and passengers flying to cities within the Volga Federal Districts now fly from new terminal 1.
Today Tatarstan President looked over reconstructed terminal, domestic and international flight zones and waiting room.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
