Speaking at a regular meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic, regional Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Lenar Garipov reported about forage conservation and preparing agricultural machinery for harvest campaign.
He informed that as of today 387 thousand tonnes of hay and 1m762 thousand tonnes of haylage silage have already been conserved which makes 35 per cent from the planned. Garipov said that private farm households also continues active forage conservation having conserved 538 thousand tonnes already that amounts to 63 per cent of the demand. However the pace should be stepped up in such regions as Apastovo, Laishevo, Kamskoye Ustye, Aktanysh and Pestretsy as it was in these regions that the number of cattle in private farms has decreased this year, he added.
Telling about readiness of agricultural machinery for harvest campaign, Deputy Minister of the republic said that having checked it, specialists have marked insufficient condition of readiness in such regions of the republic as Agryz, Almetyevsk, Bavly, Bugulma and some others.
Having marked that only a month is left before winter crops sowing, Garipov asked farmers to speed up the tillage and only 238 out of necessary 491 thousand hectares have been tilled by today.
