On 20 July during his working trip to Tetyushi, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in an enlarged meeting of the collegium of Tatarstan Internal Ministry which discussed operation of law-enforcement bodies for the first half of 2022 and set forth the task for the next six months.
Internal Minister of the republic Lieutenant General of the Police Artyom Khokhorin, who presided the meeting, reported that more than 27 thousand crimes including 9 thousand capital and gravest ones, have been registered in the republic for six months of the current year.
He said that there is a positive dynamics in decreasing registered sexual offences (by 69.7 per cent), robberies (by 6.7%), theft (-5.6%), including those from bank accounts (-29.9%), mobile phones theft (-6.2%), cases of intentional destruction or damage to property by fire or explosion (-21.4%) and hooliganism (-16.7%).
Khokhorin informed that personal crime detection rate remains at high level, including murders – 96.7%, willful infliction of grievous bodily harm – 98.3%, sexual assault – 100%, robbery -98.5% and high jacking – 90.9%.
All in all 363 members of organized crime and 96 peoples, who committed crimes as members of organized crime groups have been brought to criminal responsibility in six months of the current year, he said.
Telling about fighting illegal drug trafficking, the Minister said that 243.7 kilos of various narcotics and psychotropic substances, including 223.8 kilos of synthetic drugs, 6.2 kilos of marijuana, 5.6 kilos of hashish and 1.3 kilos of heroin; have been withdrawn form illicit trafficking on the top of 3 500 tonnes of precursors which could have been used for manufacture of at least 2 tonnes of synthetic drugs.
Khokhorin informed that the police stopped illegal activities of seven clandestine synthetic drugs labs including three outside Tatarstan – in Moscow, Nizhniy Novgorod and Ylyanovsk regions- and closed 36 drug trafficking channels which was by 9 more than during the same period last year.
He said that 90.1 per cent of the economic and corruption crimes causing damage of more than 34bn600m roubles, have been recovered.
As far as counterfeit alcohol is concerned, the regional Minister informed that about 174 thousand liters of counterfeit drinks have been withdrawn from illicit turnover and four large supply channels have been closed.
There is also positive tendency of decreasing car accidents, with 1 460 cases registered in the first half of the current year, killing 127 and injuring 1 821 people, Khokhorin said.
