Russian historical society branch to open in Volga region

On July 16 a foundation meeting of the Volga branch of Russian historical society was held at Nokolai Lobachevski Scientific Library of Kazan (Volga region) Federal University.
Before the meeting Aide to Tatarstan President and CEO of the Regional Revival Fund Tatyana Larionova had presented the project "Tatarstan cultural heritage: ancient town of Bolgar and island town of Sviyazhsk", and told about fund's activity.
To the point, Russian historical society was founded in 2012 by the prototype of the Imperial Russian Historical Society which was dissolved in 1920.
The decision to establish the branch was approved at the meeting. Cooperation agreements were signed between Kazan Federal University, Russian History Institute and Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology named after N.N. Miklukho-Maklay (Russian Academy of science).
The Volga region branch will be functioning at Kazan Federal University.
Speaking at the meeting, Rector of Kazan Federal University Ilshat Gafurov assured that the University would contribute significantly to the organization activity.
Sergey Naryshkin told that Russian Historical Society included 50 largest state and non-profit organizations engaged in formation of historical culture, historical studies and promotion of historical knowledge. It will become the second branch of the society. The first one was established in St. Petersburg some months ago.
When historians of Kazan University addressed with a request to open the branch in Kazan, Russian historical society supported their idea.
Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations of Kazan Federal University Ramil Khairutdinov was appointed Chairman of Volga region branch of Russian historical society.
Chairman of Russian State Duma, Chairman of Russian historical society Sergey Naryshkin, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of Guardians of the Regional Revival Fund Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin took part in the meeting.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic.
