Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a summing up meeting of Tatarstan Ministry of Health: In 2022, over 104 billion roubles were allocated for the development of healthcare in Tatarstan

On January 18, at the site of Volga State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, speaking at a summing up meeting of Tatarstan Ministry of Health on the results of its work in 2022 and tasks for 2023, with participation of First Deputy Minister of Health Victor Fisenko, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that in 2022, significant funds were allocated for the development of healthcare in Tatarstan in a total amount of more than 104 billion roubles, including over 10 billion for the construction, reconstruction, overhaul and supply of medical equipment to healthcare institutions. The work on strengthening the material and technical base at 1277 facilities was carried out.

Tatarstan Minister of Health Marat Sadykov made the keynote report on the results of the activities of the healthcare system of the republic in 2022 and outlined the tasks and development prospects for 2023.

Last year Tatarstan overcame the hardships of the pandemic and was able to reduce mortality rates, as well as increase the average life expectancy of residents.

The birth rate in the republic was 9.4 cases per 1,000 population. Among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, it ranks 30th. The Minister of Health emphasized that there is a decreasing trend in the birth rate.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov emphasized that all 59 indicators on the implementation of the national projects «Healthcare» and «Demography» were met. “The main achievement of the last year was a 25.8 percent reduction in the total mortality of the population. But we have not yet reached the level of 2019,” he said.

The Year of Digitalization in the Healthcare Industry announced in 2022 resulted in the certification of the Regional Clinical Hospital according to HIMSS standards, which ensures the personalization of patients and improves the quality and safety of medical activities for patients, as well as the establishment of a radiological Data Centre that will centralize all radiological service and use artificial intelligence to help doctors read images.

A complete digitization of all medical-obstetric centres and rural hospitals has been carried out, it makes possible to transfer diagnostic tests and consultations on complex issues. It is important to supervise the work of specialists at the local level.

Further, the ceremony of handing in state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan to the most distinguished medical workers took place.
