On March 14, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic on the results of the development of the gas motor fuel market (NGV fuel) in 2022 and prospects for 2023, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic – Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Korobchenko said that the fleet of natural gas vehicles exceeded 13,000 cars. About 2,000 more vehicles are planned to be throttled to NGV fuel this year.
“In 2022, we throttled 1,200 vehicles to compressed natural gas. More than 500 new cars were also purchased,” Korobchenko said.
In total, over 72 million cubic meters of natural gas was used in Tatarstan as motor fuel last year. At the same time, there are 44 automobile gas-filling compressor stations (CNG filling stations) in the republic with a total capacity of 374 million cubic meters. Thus, the capacity of gas filling stations in the republic is used only by 20 per cent.
Currently, Tatarstan occupies a leading position in the Russian Federation in this direction. We were able to achieve results due to the regional programme for the development of the gas motor fuel market, which began in 2013,” the Minister noted.
The meeting participants also discussed issues of construction of new CNG filling stations and LNG fuel stations and throttling of agricultural equipment to NGV fuel.
