Five new projects presented at session of SEZ Alabuga Supervision Board

On August 12 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a session of SEZ Alabuga Supervision Board where five new projects and foreign investors were presented.
Thus, residents of SEZ Alabuga, Interskol and Alabuga-Motors, are expanding their activity. Interskol will deal with technical and innovation activity and establish an engineering testing centre “Engineering centre Interskol”.
Alabuga-Motors will launch production on adapting Ford base chassis for special transport, such as minibus taxi, emergency cars, etc.
The Finnish company Huhtamaki is going to build a plant for producing disposable tableware, paper and plastic wrapper - Huhtamaki Alabuga. New plant will be McDonald`s main supplier in Volga, West Siberia, Kazakhstan and Ural regions.
KamGeoTex company will launch production of high-strength grids using polyester industrial threads that can be used in hydroengineering, automotive, and railway construction.
The Russian company Magistralnye tehnologii will produce polymeric pipes for highway engineering networks.
The last two projects will be implemented in industrial park “Sinergia” that is currently under construction. Construction works started in February 2013 and will be completed in the first quarter of 2014.
During the session arrangements on establishing HR centre at SEZ Alabuga were reached.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that SEZ Alabuga is rapidly developing, and there are 37 registered residents. Total amount of investments made 95 bln rubles. Commenting on projects that were presented at the session, Rustam Minnikhanov said that new enterprises will provide a part of their produce for domestic market.
Finally, Director General of SEZ Alabuga Timur Shagivaleev said that “Engineering centre Interskol” became new resident of the special economic zone. He continued that additional premises are provided at Eurasia industrial park as well. Both Eurasia ad Sinergia parks are located at SEZ Alabuga, and along with tax remissions, customs privileges and energy resources resident companies can use ready-made production premises.
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
