Rustam Minnikhanov: I am sure we have many interesting areas for cooperation with the United Mexican States

On August 12 at his meeting with Ambassador of the United Mexican States to Russia Ruben Beltran in Kazan Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that development of cooperation with Mexico is important. He noted that foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and Mexico is rather small and consists in delivery of helicopters and oil products to Mexico. Cooperation is also realized in scientific and educational spheres.
Rustam Minnikhanov believes that cooperation in engineering industry, student exchange, tourism and sport spheres may be perspective. He reminded that World Aquatics Championship will be held in Kazan in 2015, and in 2017 - in Mexico.
Ambassador of the United Mexican States to Russia Ruben Beltran thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for warm reception and expressed greetings on behalf of Mexican leadership. He informed that some of Mexican enterprises are willing to enter Russian market, and in September 2013 Mexican President will visit Russia to take part in summit G20 in St. Petersburg.
Ruben Beltran is sure that cooperation with Tatarstan will be fruitful. He noted that it can also be realized in the sphere of pharmaceutics, medical services, and agriculture.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Mr Ambassador for his activity in discussion of issues of interaction between Tatarstan and Mexican business structures.
To the point, today the delegation of the United Mexican States visited High Technology Technopark “IT park” in Kazan, took part in presentation of Tatarstan economic and industrial potential and looked over some historical and architectural monuments. It is expected that Mexican guests will also visit Kazan-Arena football stadium and Aquatics Palace.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
