On April 5, at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, on the sidelines of Tatarstan International Forum on Energy and Energy Resource Efficiency, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a meeting of the Government of the republic with participation of First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Pavel Sorokin and Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin on the implementation of the state programme “Energy and Resource Efficiency in Tatarstan”.
Opening the meeting, Pesoshin emphasized that the republic is doing a lot of work to improve the energy efficiency of the economy, develop the energy sector and import substitution.
In his report, the Deputy Prime Minister of the republic - Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko said that in 2022 electricity consumption in the republic amounted to 33 billion kilowatt-hours, which is 3.5 per cent higher than in 2021. . Electricity generation with distribution facilities increased by 4.7 per cent over the year and amounted to 28 billion kilowatt-hours.
Oleg Korobchenko outlined the further modernization of production facilities of the energy system and the commissioning of new capacities, the introduction of smart metering systems, and the development of the gas motor fuel market as priority tasks.
