Rustam Minnikhanov: “REACH has to keep stability of Russian production delivery to Europe”

International conference "Introduction of technical regulations REACH in European Union and its influence on export of chemical substances from CIS" was opened in Kazan.
RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation Vladimir Salamatov, Head of Federal Agency on technical regulation and metrology Grigory Elkin, President of REACH-center (Helsinki) Vornamo Hannu and others took part in the event.
Vladimir Salamatov informed that European Commission confirmed the technical regulation of European Union REACH (Registration, Assessment, Permission and limitation of chemical substances).
Rustam Minnikhanov considers that holding of such great international actual event in republic means that people are interested in Tatarstan as far as it’s one of the largest petrochemical centers in Russia. Large oil and gas – production, oil chemical, chemical, machine building enterprises are located in Tatarstan. Petrochemical complex is one of the budget-making branches in republic. The main enterprises of Russian chemical industry are “Nizhnekamsknefethim” JSC, “Kazanorgsintez”, “Nizhnekamskshina”, “Nefis Cosmetics”.
New regulations concern all industrial branches. According to new REACH regulations all production imported to countries of European Union should be registered till December, 1 of the current year.
Leading specialists of REACH-center (Helsinki), export enterprises of Russia and CIS, Russian Union of manufacturers and businessmen, Russian Chemists Union, national authorities on standardization, metrology and certification of countries-participants of CIS took part in the conference.
On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
