Rustam Minnikhanov: “Tatarstan is interested in cooperation with Hyundai Corporation in a number of areas”

On August 28 at a meeting with representatives of Hyundai Corporation Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is interested in cooperation with Hyundai Corporation in a number of areas, including waste utilization and management, oil refining and power engineering.
Welcoming the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Hyundai brand is well-known throughout the world. In particular, Hyundai Motor was the general sponsor of World Summer Universiade 2013.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan puts much emphasis on environmental issues. The issues of recycling and processing of solid domestic waste are of particular importance. Tatarstan President said that today it is important to arrange work on waste management in a systematic way. There are currently three waste recycling plants in Kazan. The waste selective collection system is now being implemented.
“Hyundai corporation" has a lot of experience in recycling and processing of waste. We would like to cooperate with your company in this area,” Rustam Minnikhanov noted.
Vice-President of “Hyundai Corporation”, Director General of "Hyundai Corporation Moscow and CIS” Keun Woo Park made a short presentation of waste management concept – from collection of waste to its recycling and use of energy.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the Korean company's concept on waste management is very interesting. Rustam Minnikhanov asked to establish a working group, that will include representatives of Tatarstan Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Kazan Executive Committee, as well as specialists from Naberezhny Chelny and Nizhnekamsk, to study in details experience of Korea.
The issues of cooperation in the sphere of oil refining and petrochemistry were also discussed by the parties during the meeting.
Representatives of “Hyundai” told about activity of “Hyundai Engineering” and “Hyundai Construction” specializing in designing and construction of oil refining plants and modernization of power engineering objects.
Representatives of “Hyundai Corporation” showed their interest in cooperation with OAO “TANECO”, OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim”, OAO “Kazanorgsintez” and other Tatarstan industrial enterprises.
The presentation of implemented projects of “Hyundai corporation” in the sphere of oil refining and petrochemical industries and projects that are under construction (Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Libya) was also made at the meeting.
Vice-President of “Hyundai Corporation”, Director General of Hyundai Corporation Moscow and CIS” Keun Woo Park, Project Manager of “Hyundai Corporation” in CIS Ji Hwan, Counsellor to Head of Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources O Han Do, representatives of Tatarstan Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Head of Kazan Executive Committee Aleksey Pesoshin, Director General of OAO “TAIF” Albert Shigabutdinov, Director General of OAO “Tatheftekhiminvest-holding” Rafinat Yarullin, First Deputy Director General of OAO “Tatneft” – Head of Crude Oil and Petroleum Products Sales Department Nail Maganov and other officials took part in the meeting at Tatarstan Government House.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
