Rustam Minnikhanov: Work on a wider use of gas fuel should be carried out in a systematic way

On September 4 at a round table on a wider use of gas fuel in Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov said that work in this area should be carried out in a systemic way in the regions.
To the point, the round table was held within the framework of Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals forum.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, in order to expand gas fuel use it is necessary to provide the proper infrastructure and conditions that will be beneficial for those who will use gas fuel. He reminded that Tatarstan is among pilot regions where the project on conversion of vehicles to gas fuel is being implemented. Rustam Minnikhanov said that this topic is very urgent both for the republic and the country and KAMAZ is taking part in development of measures to increase the use of gas fuel in Tatarstan.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the use of gas fuel is of particular importance for big cities and will be advantageous to the ecology and internal gas consumption in the country.
He also reminded that an Agreement on a wider use of natural gas as motor fuel was signed between OAO “Gazprom”, Tatarstan Republic and OOO “Gazprom gas engine fuel” in June this year.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that the project is beneficial for everyone and that Tatarstan became one of the pilot regions thanks to OAO “Gazprom”. He expressed his gratitude to company’s leadership and noted that today it is important to organize work in all areas.
Deputy Director General of Autonomous non-profit organization “Executive committee of the 27th World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan” Azat Galiakhmetov told about the use of gas fueled buses during World Summer Universiade 2013. In particular, he said that 160 gas fueled buses were used during the Games. According to Azat Galiakhmetov, costs and hazardous emissions to the atmosphere were minimized due to the use of gas fuel.
Deputy Director General of OAO “KAMAZ” on sales and service Eugeny Pronin told about participation of OAO “KAMAZ” in implementation of the state programme “Development of gas fuel market in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2013-2023”. In particular, he noted that today KAMAZ is the only enterprise that is implementing the project.
Director General of OOO “RariTEK” (Naberezhnye Chelny) Rafael Batyrshin told about the plans on production of gas fueled vehicles. According to his words, a wide range of models for road construction, passenger transportation, vehicles for the municipal economy sector have been developed. More than 20 models based on KAMAZ vehicles are offered for oil and gas sector.
First Deputy Director General of OOO “Gazprom gas-engine fuel” Oleg Stepanenko told about measures on development of gas engine fuel market in Russia and construction of infrastructure objects.
He said that today Russia does not take leading positions at the global gas fuel market, which is rapidly developing. It is planned that the share of gas at motor fuel market will make 5% by 2020. Oleg Stepanenko noted that construction of gas stations is one of the main tasks for pilot regions of the country.
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
