Meat waste processing plant opened at SEZ “Alaguba”

On September 9 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in solemn launching of Russia’s first meat waste processing plant of Saria group (Germany) at SEZ “Alabuga”.
To the point, the foundation of the plant on production of animal protein “Saria Bio-Industries Volga” was laid at SEZ “Alabuga” in 2011 and became the first plant of Saria group in Russia. The new plant will process animal origin stuff to dispose it and obtain two main products – feeding meal and two types of animal protein (technical and feeding). The area of stuff gathering up to 1000 km will cover almost all territory of the Volga federal region.
The activity of the plant will contribute to environmental safety. Animal and poultry waste, that have never been disposed before and cause serious load for the ecology in the entire region, will be used as raw material.
The stuff will be collected into special containers at meat processing plants and further transported in compliance with veterinary and sanitary regulations.
The investment in the plant construction made 38 mln euros. The plant currently employs 150 people from Yelabuga, Naberezhny Chelny and other cities.
Tatarstan President thanked investors represented by Saria group and expressed his hope that all formalities regarding commissioning of the plant would be completed soon.
“I believe that this event is important for the republic. We will be able to completely change the attitude to animal waste disposal due to the plant. We have now got technologies, enterprise and jobs. I hope that the plant will operate properly and steadily,” Rustam Minnikhanov noted.
Head of supervisory board of Saria group Norbert Rethmann thanked Tatarstan President for support of the project and expressed his hope for its further development. “We hope that meat processing will be developing in Tatarstan and we have plans on its expansion,” Norbert Rethmann said.
Later on the same day, the honoured guests planted trees near the plant and looked around production facilities and special cars for waste collection.
Saria group operates in a range of sectors worldwide. The group’s companies manufacture quality products to be used in animal foodstuffs, aquaculture, agriculture and industry. Besides, Saria produces alternative types of fuel and provides services for farming and the food industry. The company owns more than 50 processing plants in Germany, France, Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Spain and Belarus, and employs more than 5000 people.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
