On September 16 Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Intel Vice-President, General Manager of World Ahead programme John Davis, Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov, and Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov took part in a plenary session of II International conference “Electronic school-2013” in Kazan. Experts from different countries will discuss urgent problems of educational industry development and share experience in adopting new information technologies at schools.
A unique project “Pilot schools of Intel educational programmes” was launched in Tatarstan last year. Five schools, competence centres in electronic education are taking part in the project on using Intel programmes in classroom and extracurricular activities (Intel Teach, Intel learn).
Ildar Khalikov noted that development information technologies in educational industry is priority for the republic. He believes that the conference will help teachers, developers of teaching materials and pupils will be in a single information environment.
Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov told about development of IT industry in Tatarstan. In particular, he told about the portal of state services, “IT champion” contest, and formation of educational IT cluster for training specialists, and portal “Electronic education”.
Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov told that for three years 3 bln rubles were allocated for holding events within the framework of Electronic school project. He focused on the portal “Electronic education in the Republic of Tatarstan”, saying that 900 thousand users are currently registered in the system. Speaking about future prospects, Engel Fattakhov said that all organisations of professional education are expected to be working in a single information environment.
