Roman Shaykhutdinov:”I am sure that with Aleksandr Gasnikov the role of the Innopolis University in development of the Russian IT sphere will become even more important”
At its meeting the supervisory Council of the Innopolis University has approved the appointment of Aleksandr Gasnikov – who graduated from MFTI, has the PhD in Physics and Mathematics, is the famous scientist in AI and Mathematics and Professor of the HSE, Skoltech and the Institute of Information Transfer- to the position of the University Rector.
Aleksandr Gasnikov is an author of seven books including the monograph in mathematical modelling of transport flows and publishes more than 30 works a year with the total number of his publications in journals and international conferences proceedings having exceeded 200 papers.
Speaking at the meeting, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov said: “I am happy to see such a famous scientist in Innopolis. I am sure that with Aleksandr Gasnikov the role of the IT University in development of the Russian IT sphere will become even more important. I wish you success in training needed specialists for the benefit of development of Innopolis and provision of technological sovereignty of the country.”
In his turn Aleksandr Gasnikov told: “When I was a student at MFTI the first Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Tormasov gave me lectures in computer sciences. And now I have become his successor in such an important project for the country as the Russian IT University. It is a great honor to take charge of the research sphere here with the strong team of scientists and gifted students from all over the world.”
