Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a special event of Russia-Singapore Forum “Investment and doing business in Tatarstan”

On September 24 during his working visit to Singapore Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov delivered a speech at a special event “Investment and doing business in Tatarstan” that was organised by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA) in order to present republic’s economic potential to foreign investors. The moderator at the meeting was TIDA Head of investment promotion Wyatt Ford.
Businessmen, journalists of leading Russian and foreign editions took part in the event.
Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the audience and thanked for the interest towards cooperation with Tatarstan, one of the leading regions in Russia. He noted that representatives of ministries and agencies, and biggest companies were on Tatarstan delegation. He hoped that Tatarstan and Singapore businessmen will agree on new interesting projects during the meeting.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that Singapore delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam had recently visited Kazan and Tatarstan-Singapore business forum with participation of several Singapore companies (IDA International, RSP Architects, Educare, ST Electronics, IE Singapore, Ascendas, Surbana International). Tatarstan is already actively cooperating with some of these companies, he added.
Tatarstan President also said that cooperation in the sphere of education and IT is developing. Singapore companies render great support on the projects “Innopolis” and “Smart City Kazan”.
Rustam Minnikhanov continued that nowadays Tatarstan is one of the most rapidly developing regions in Russia, and there is a developed network of high technology parks with ready-made infrastructure. He informed as well that the World Summer Universiade 2013 was held in Kazan, the World Aquatics Championship will be held in 2015, and matches of the World Football Cup in 2018.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov invited everyone to cooperation with Tatarstan.
As the meeting continued, the video about Kazan «A Thousand Worlds of New» was presented to the audience.
TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov told about the most interesting investment projects.
Igor Nosov, Director General of Innopolis Special Economic Zone told about its development.
After the special event Rustam Minnikhanov met with journalists of Singapore news channel CNA and took part in shooting of a documentary film about Singapore Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic.
