Conference “Russia and CIGRE: combining experience and innovation” opens in Kazan

On September 25 Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, CIGRE President Klaus Fröhlich, Chairman of CIGRE Russian national committee Boris Ayuev took part in opening of scientific and technical conference “Russia and CIGRE: combining experience and innovation”.
The International Council on Large Electric Systems (Conseil International des Grands Réseaux Électriques – CIGRE) is the biggest international non-governmental organization in the sphere of electrical industry. Founded in 1921 in France, it is one of the most authoritative scientific and technical associations that unites specialists working in the sphere of energy and has a powerful influence on formation of the strategy of the industry’s development in many countries.
In 2013 CIGRE will celebrate 90 years of Russia’s participation in organization’s activity. A session of CIGRE Administrative council that determines trends of future researches conducted by 12 thousand scientists, experts and specialists from 95 countries will be dated to this event. Heads of largest energy companies and research centres from 33 countries will meet in Tatarstan. Such a large-scale forum organized under the auspices of Russian Ministry of Energy will be held in Russia for the first time.
The forum is organised by Tatarstan Government, CIGRE Russian national committee, and OAO “System operator of Single Energy System”.
The conference “Russia and CIGRE: combining experience and innovation” opened today within the framework of the session of CIGRE Administrative council.
CIGRE officials, energy, production and engineering companies, teachers and students of Kazan Power Engineering University take part in the event.
Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov welcomed participants of the conference on behalf of Tatarstan President. He said that workers of Tatarstan energy industry made considerable contribution to preparation for the World Summer Universiade in Kazan.
CIGRE President Klaus Fröhlich told about modern technologies of energy transmission and distribution, and key problems faced by the industry.
Reports on energy system management, development, adoption and operation of energy equipment will be presented at the conference.
On 24 April, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage sites and confined to the International Day of Historical Monuments and Sites held in the Government House of the republic, the Aid to the Rais of Tatarstan Olesya Baltusova informed that in 2024 the Rebus Forum will be held on 14-15 November. She reminded that in the current year the forum will be named “Aglomerations: Experience, Opportunities. Challenges” and will be held with participation of China “as it will take place during the ROSTCI Forum.”
On 24 April Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov together with speakers and experts, investors, representatives of start-ups and venture funds, large corporations and development institutes took part in events of the “zero” day of the Russian Venture Forum dedicated to the topic of “Technological Entrepreneurship: the space of highest skills.
On 24 April Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Nigmatullin on behalf of the Government of the republic and the Director of the VOIN Center Igor Kazarezov signed an agreement on cooperation between the Government of the republic and the Center, which envisages interaction in issues of patriotic upbringing and military and sports training of youngsters.
On 24 April, speaking at a briefing in the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, the Chairman of the Regional Committee on protection of Cultural Heritage Sites Ivan Guschin informed that in 2024 the Committee initiated historical and cultural expertise of nearly 100 sites and 20 archeological monuments to take them under state protection.
