Tatarstan Prime Minister visits a new water treatment plant in Nurlat

On 8 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who came on a working trip to Nurlat region of the republic to take part in a resulting session dedicated to outcomes of 2023, got acquainted with work of a new water supply system of the water intake facility of the City of Nurlat built by the federal programme “Clear water” within the framework of the national project “Housing and City Environment”.

The previous water intake facility built in the middle of the 70-es last century was in a critical condition and did not ensure reliable and quality water supply, needing drastic measures to solve water supply issues.

The construction of the new station began in spring 2022 and 27 kilometers of water pipelines, two water intakes with the capacity of 10 thousand cubic meters a day were built by the programme. The new facility will supply drinking water to 32 thousand residents of Nurlat with the nearby settlements to be connected to it later.

Speaking at the ceremony, Aleksey Pesoshin emphasized: “Drinking water quality was one of the urgent problems of Nurlat. Now, that the large project of water supply is completed, the administration of the region together with the operating organization should ensure continuous work both of the intake and the station.”
