Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin reports about the results of work of regional Cabinet of Ministers in 2023

On 19 April, speaking at the 53-rd meeting of the Tatarstan State Council presided by the Chairman of the Council Farid Mukhametshin, the Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin reported the members of the Council about the results of work of regional Cabinet of Ministers in 2023.  

The agenda of the meeting consisted of 16 issues including drafts of 5 regional and 6 federal laws.

Aleksey Pesoshin told about preparation of the programme of rehousing people from dilapidated houses, which includes resettlement of people from 1 390 apartments, about more than 3.4m square meters of housing commissioned last year, and the lack of more than 11 thousand specialists at large enterprises of the republic.

“One of the main reasons is the insufficient implementation of automation at industrial processes which causes the use of a large amount of menial work,” he said and added that it is necessary to reconsider approaches to the labour force.

Aleksey Pesoshin emphasized that re-engineering and optimizations of industrial processes “do not just mean the increase of efficiency and competitiveness but are a key to survival.” He informed that in 2023 defense enterprises of the republic employed about 23 thousand people however the staff shortage still continues, he said.

Touching the issues of migrants, the regional Prime Minister said: “We will not be able to solve staffing issues without migrants, especially now when there is a huge demand at defense enterprises and in all branches of economy.”

Speaking about the waste incineration plant, Aleksey Pesoshin informed that even though the investor has encountered a number of problems with the equipment, he is planning to finish the project by the end of 2025.
