Delegation of Tatarstan takes part in World Economic Forum in Istanbul

Delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan led by Boris Pavlov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, takes part in the World Economic Forum in Istanbul.
Representatives of the superior executive bodies of the Republic of Turkey headed by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of the republic, take part in the meeting. Presidents of Afghanistan, Latvia, heads of government of Pakistan, Albania, Georgia, Kirgizia, representatives of Russia and Middle East countries also participate in the Forum.
Key subject discussed at the Forum was the establishment of constructive dialog and cooperation to overcome the world financial crisis. Special attention has been paid to the regional and global energy security.
During the official part of the visit First Deputy Prime Minister met Kurshat Tuzmen, Turkey Minister of State, Cem Kozlu, Chairman of the Turkey-Russian Business Council for External Economic Cooperation (DEIK) and the board of administration, Alparslan Korkmaz, Chairman of the Investment Mobilization and Maintaining Agency under the Prime Minister of Turkey, representatives of executive bodies and business community of coutries participants, Muammer Gulem, Governor of Istanbul and Kadir Topbash, Mayor of Istanbul.
Current state of trade and economic cooperation of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Turkey and prospects of its development were discussed at the meeting. Boris Pavlov emphasized the possibility of Turkish investment in industrial production organisation on the territory of SEZ “Alabuga” and “Khimgrad”. He also talked about particular investment projects which could be implemented on the territory of the republic.
Boris Pavlov presented the innovative and investment potential of Tatarstan, cluster development of petrochemical and oil producing industries and complex project “The Development of Nano Industry in the Republic of Tatarstan”.
Speaking at the meeting First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that by commodity circulation volume the Republic of Turkey takes the first place among trading partners of Tatarstan.
On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
