RT President Mintimer Shaimiev: “Some programs may be corrected according to the results of the 1st quarter of 2009”

Mintimer Shaimiev announced in his yearly speech to RT State Council that we need economy in the period of finance crisis. According to his words republic is able to go through the crises in appropriate manner. RT President told about economy and exclusion of funds misuse. Chamber of Accounts has to play the most important role in this problem.

Moreover, the Head of Tatarstan considers it’s necessary to stop or not to start construction of new objects. He underlined that all decisions will be made by RT Prime Minister. The realization period of some programs may also be changed.

RT President offered RT Ministry of Trade and Industry, RT Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing, Tariff Committee, “Tatenergo” JSC, and local self-government bodies to work out the program of power supply.

As for development of small and medium enterprises, Mintimer Shaimiev announced that Tatarstan Government should accept regulations which will reduce the number of inspections.

Small and medium enterprises play more important role in Gross Regional Product of republic. More than 300 000 people work in this sphere.

RT President supposes that the Government has to change the procedure of state order formation and give preference to domestic products.

The construction of roads and beautification of the city will be continued definitely within planned finance limits.

The Gross Regional Product will increase for 8 % in 2008, industrial production – for 7 %.

The Head of Tatarstan separately pointed out the problem of citizens’ income, in particular, the salaries in budget sphere. During 3 years the income has increased in 2,2 times. He offered to put off the transition for branch labour payment system till 2010 year.

It’s planned to commission 2 million 160 thousand m² of houses in 2008. 11 000 flats will be commissioned within social mortgage program in 2008.
