College for training specialists in IT and robotics opens at University of Innopolis

On 13 January Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov took part in a ceremony of opening a college for training qualified specialists in IT and robotics at the University of Innopolis. The college established as a pilot project will enroll first 75 students in 2025-2026 academic year, and, speaking at the ceremony, Roman Shaykhutdinov emphasized its strategic importance in the context of national tasks.

“Russia encounters global competition challenges which demand quick development of domestic technological capacity. Training specialists in IT and robotics is one of key elements of this process. The choice of Innopolis as the site for the college is quite justified as the University of Innopolis has already proved itself as a leading center for competences in robotics by having got the status of the Robotics Center in 2018 and taking part in the implementation of the programme of National Technological Initiative. Educational programmes will be strictly in line with demands of industrial partners and graduates will be ready for targeted employment in dynamically developing branches of industry,” he said.

The Innopolis College takes applications for two full time educational programmes, namely Information Systems and Programming and Mechatronics and Robotics and the programmes duration is three years 10 months. Its graduates will be issued state certificates of the secondary vocational education and will have an opportunity to be employed by Russian IT companies or to be enrolled in bachelors’ programmes in the Innopolis University.
