On 30 January in the Kazan Kremlin the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin, the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Rais of the republic Asgat Safarov and other officials took part in celebrations in honour of the Strela Ak Bars rugby club which won the Russian rugby-7 championship-2024 and which is the Russian Rugby Super Bowl owner.
Welcoming the athletes, Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated them with their victory and said: “The title of Russia rugby-7 winners, silver medals of the Russian championship and victory in the Super bowl are the legitimate result of the united work of the whole team.”
“Due to your victories the number of those involved in rugby grows, this kind of sports will get a new impetus in the republic and will become even more popular,” he said and wished athletes new achievements and victories.
In the end of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov handed in state awards of Tatarstan to the members of the team and in their turn the athletes handed him in a memorial gift.
