On November 2 at a regional video-conference meeting chaired by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov Tatarstan Minister of Construction, Architecture and Municipal Economy Irek Faizullin reported that as of 1st November 2013, 1 mln 907.1 thousand square meters of housing or 79.5% of the year plan commissioned in Tatarstan.
Irek Faizullin reported that as of 1st November, 259.9 of 383.3 thousand square meters or 67.8% of the year plan have been commissioned under the social mortgage programme.
The Minister also reported about the progress of construction of corporate housing for police workers within the framework of the complex crime prevention programme for 2011-2014 in Tatarstan.
Speaking about construction of universal sports grounds in the regional municipal regions, Tatarstan Minister of Construction said that it was planned to build a total of 155 sports grounds. Irek Faizullin reported about completion of construction and installation works at 41 objects in 17 municipalities, including 8 regions where the programme has been implemented in full.
Commenting on the situation, Rustam Minnikhanov asked heads of regions to pay more attention to construction of sports grounds.
Irek Faizullin also reported about construction of pre-school educational facilities in Tatarstan for 2013 (totally, 27 objects).
It was also mentioned that 67 houses for 260 veterans are under construction within the programme on improving war veterans’ living conditions. The allocation of additional funds in the amount of 254.2 mln rubles for providing grants to 223 veterans is expected in November.

On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.
