3 November 2013, Sunday
On November 3 Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Tatarstan citizens on the National Unity Day.
“Dear citizens of Tatarstan! From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you on the state holiday of the Russian Federation - the National Unity Day! The understanding of the true value of this historical day is growing every year. It is very important to note that the lessons Russian peoples learned from the events that happened four hundred years ago, are still urgent and meaningful.
During the hard and great history, our country has been on the verge of disaster many times, when the state lost its strength, people lost faith. And every time we overcame the crisis due to the unity of our people.
The unity of multinational people is important today when the situation in the world economy and policy is difficult, and new threats for the social stability inside the country appeared.
The best qualities of our people, such as patriotism, respect for traditions of the past, peace and strength of mind come to the fore at such times.
It is also important to note that the multinational people of Tatarstan always played a great role in the Russian history, handing down traditions of service and defence of the country from generation to generation, keeping the age-old spiritual values and cultural diversity.
All constructive strengths are consolidated in our republic. The unity of people with good will is the most important condition for socio-economical and spiritual-cultural development of Tatarstan.
We are truly proud that the prestige of our republic is increasing. Tatarstan experience in resolving difficult international and inter-confessional problems in a peaceful way is discussed with interest and respect in many parts of the world.
The constructive labour of many generations of Tatarstan citizens is the basis of all our achievements.
It is important to understand that the public solidarity always forms the true national unity. The consequent rise in the standard and quality of life, constant care about those who need state and public support, effective protection of individual rights and freedoms, steady development of civil institutes are the most important areas of further strengthening of the Tatarstan unity.
Dear friends! From the bottom of my heart I wish you health and well-being, optimism and new achievements for the welfare of our country!
